The beauty of going to a DIY show here in Portland is that they take place in some of the weirdest places (the last show I went to was over at a CrossFit gym). Going to these shows is more exciting than the usual hosting at an established venue. This is the case for Clownfest, organized by Rabbithole DIY, which took place on a beautiful Saturday here in Portland featuring DIY bands like Heave Skate, Happy Death Men, Beautiful Freaks, and a few others. Along with some clown shows with the likes of Ray Flow Art, Bert & Moth, and the highlight for me, the Clown Fashion Show. The only downside of the day was the show ending early due to a noise complaint filed by some of the neighbors, which is the sad reality of hosting a show at a house. I hope something like this happens again next year because I can see it being pretty big for the DIY punk scene here in PDX.
